Issues in Heritage Language Pedagogy

by Irina Dubinina (Brandeis University) & Olesya Kisselev (University of Texas at San Antonio)

This round table will address some of the poignant issues in heritage language pedagogy, namely: 1) pedagogical models 2) learning outcomes and assessment, and 3) teacher training. Moderators and presenters will introduce the topic areas, summarizing and problematizing current trends. Participants will then be invited to engage in a discussion of the topics in small groups with the goal of sharing the expertise and experiences, and/or to brainstorm a blueprint of actionable items. Summaries of the discussion will be posted on HLI website for further reference.
