David’s efforts are focused on public policy interests and philanthropic endeavors, especially pertaining to Israel. He brought together the RAND Corporation and the Israel Democracy Institute – sponsoring a Washington, DC workshop entitled “The Challenge for Democracies Facing Asymmetric Conflicts.” In addition to serving on the Community Advisory Board of the UCLA Younes & Soraya Nazarian Center for Israel Studies, David currently is a board member of the West Coast Steering Committee for the American Society of the University of Haifa. His initial interest in UCLA’s Israel Studies Center stemmed from regular attendance at the Center’s various public programs as well as friendships with existing board members. Previously he served on the Board of Governors for the Los Angeles Athletic Club.
David earned his undergraduate degree from UCLA in Economics and History and an MSc in Russian Government from the London School of Economics as well as an MA from UCLA in Political Science. He has worked for a variety of financial services firms, both in the United Kingdom and the United States, focusing primarily on taxation matters arising from intra-company transactions of multi-national companies. He has also worked on financial issues for a US defense contractor.
