The Joshua Fishman Award is presented to a scholar who has contributed significantly and over a long period of time to the field of heritage language studies. At the first International Conference on Heritage/Community Languages in 2010, the recipient was Guadalupe Valdés (Stanford University) and in 2014, it was Richard Brecht (University of Maryland). This year, we will honor Terrence Wiley (Center for Applied Linguistics) with the award. Time and place of the award ceremony TBA.
