About the speaker:
Siddharth Varadarajan is an award-winning journalist from India. Based in New Delhi, he is founding editor of The Wire, one of India’s most influential media organizations. Mr Varadarajan was earlier the editor of The Hindu newspaper and diplomatic editor of The Times of India. He has written extensively on Indian politics, foreign policy, and human rights. Mr Varadarajan is editor of a book on the 2002 anti-Muslim violence in Gujarat and co-author of Nonalignment 2.0: A Foreign and Strategic Policy for India in the 21st Century. He is the recipient of the Deutsche Welle Freedom of Speech Award and the Shorenstein Award for Journalism.
