Viji Prakash is a world renowned interpreter of Bharata Natyam, the classical Dance of South India. Having studied since the age of 4 with the great gurus of The Sri Raja Rajeshwari Institute in Bombay, Viji has performed at all the major performing centers in the U.S. and India. The best Dance Guru was an award conferred on her by the prestigious Music Academy Chennai India, in the year 2000. Artistic Director of Shakti, her dance institute in L.A., Viji Prakash celebrates 25 years of dance in the U.S. In 2002, Viji and the Shakti Dance Company will be a part of the Sacred music Festival in L.A. in September 2002
