The teacher workshop is designed to help language teachers face the challenge of teaching HL students. One of the biggest challenges these teachers face is finding suitable materials for their students. In our 2015 workshop we plan to help teachers face this challenge by focusing on the development of instructional materials that answer the needs of their HL learners. Topics will include: finding suitable authentic materials for this population; designing materials that build on student’s initial proficiencies; and including content that meets their affective needs, in particular issues of identity and belonging. The workshop will be designed to impart the principles and methods of HL materials development via hands-on projects that involve the development, presentation, and critique of materials.
The workshop is free, but space is limited and registration ends on May 1. For additional information, visit the workshop page.
